Please note, the position of 5th (Kaua‘i-Ni‘ihau) Vice Regent has been left vacant. This is due to a technicality in the Bylaws which states the 5th Vice Regent “will live on the island of Kaua‘i.” The Nominating Committee did receive a name for the position, and the person in question would be an excellent candidate. However, at the present, her primary residence is on O‘ahu, though she returns to her native island of Kaua‘i on a regular basis. In the interest of transparency, your Board feels it should be up to the membership as a whole to decide if living on multiple islands is acceptable.
Therefore, the Nominating Committee is open to receiving additional nominations for candidates who live on Kaua‘i until February 11th. If no other fully qualified candidates are presented by that date, Puamohala Kaholokula, the candidate suggested by the Kaua‘i members, will be presented for election at the annual meeting on February 22nd. Nominations may be sent to email@example.com.
If other candidates who live on Kaua‘i are presented to the Nominating Committee by February 11th, the Committee will reconvene to review each candidate and make a recommendation to the Board of Directors. The final approved name will be presented for election at the annual meeting on February 22nd.
