The Chinese Merchants Ball

Join the Daughters of Hawai'i Saturday, May 31st, 2008 for their 21st Century interpretation of the Chinese Merchants Ball of 1856 honoring the marriage of King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma.

This is an event you don't want to miss!   The night will include many memorable performances, featuring:

Fashion show by Shanghai Tang
Piano music by Donald Yap and a songstress serenade

Lion Dance (preceding dinner)
Richard "Babe" Bell, premier conch shell player

King Kamehameha and Queen Emma
(portrayal by Marques Marzan and Leah Caldeira)

Hawaiian music trio: "Kualoa"

Van Horn Diamond Serenaders
Dancing after dinner


There will also be a silent and live auction featuring outstanding items!

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards the Daughters of Hawai'i in their mission to preserve and maintain both Queen Emma Summer Palace and Hulihe'e Place in Kona.
