Day at Queen Emma Summer Palace At-Home Edition
The 44th Annual Day at Queen Emma Summer Palace is coming up on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Traditionally, this annual community festival opens the Palace and grounds to the public, welcoming kamaʻāina and visitors to celebrate Hawaiʻi's history, culture, and music, while supporting local vendors and artisans during a day at the Palace.
This year, due to the ongoing pandemic and growing concern for Hawaiʻi's rising case numbers, in lieu of the in-person event and for the safety of our community, we will be hosting an "at-home" event. We are working to distill what makes the event so special--music, hula, local products, ʻono foods, time spent together and most importantly, an experience at the Palace--and present it in a way to be enjoyed responsibly. The cornerstones of the "at-home" event will feature:
Pūʻolo Aloha Supporter Box (Available Starting September 20) - We're excited to launch this limited edition, highly curated supporter box featuring all the elements you've come to expect from the Day. Enjoy and support Hānaiakamalama by purchasing a box for yourself or send to a loved one as a special surprise! We've collected an assortment of delightful and locally made products by partnering with Hawaiʻi-based brands including: Design Jord, The Indigenous Soap Company, Jules+Gem Hawaii, Kahua ʻĀina, Lola Pilar, Tag Aloha, Ua Body, Waiʻanae Gold, and Workshop 28. Each Pūʻolo will also include one-of-a-kind memorabilia from the Queen Emma Summer Palace as well as a ticket to our drawing for a chance to win a California King-sized Hawaiian Quilt with two shams.
Hawaiian Quilt Drawing (Enter Drawing September 20 - October 2) - We're excited to continue a long-standing and highly anticipated annual tradition with a Hawaiian Quilt Drawing! Enter for your chance to win a California King Size Hawaiian Quilt with Two Shams in the colorful Cattleya Orchid pattern, which is sure to enhance any room in your home. Cattleya is an orchid and this contemporary quilt pattern illustrates the magnificent colors and floral patterns of the islands. While not fragrant, the Cattleya orchid is one of the most beautiful flowers of the islands. Kenui Quilts has been quilting for more than 28 years, bringing the best in Hawaiian Quilting. Master crafts-women take the time to ensure each quilt is handmade to be the most beautiful Hawaiian Quilt possible. Suggested $5 donation per ticket. Winner must be 18 years or older and NO PURCHASE OR DONATION NECESSARY TO ENTER TO WIN. The Drawing will take place and the winner will be notified on October 2, 2021.
