Nā Hulu, Nā Lei, Nā Lamakū Hoʻolaulima

The Lei, symbolic of the principles of the Daughters of Hawaiʻi, whose objectives are to perpetuate the memory and spirit of old Hawai’i and of historic facts, and to preserve the nomenclature and correct pronunciation of the Hawaiian language. The wing of friendship never moults a feather. Our foundational values, Laulima, Lokomaikaʻi, Mālama, Pono and Aloha continue to guide our relationships, cultivate productive cooperation and help create successful outcomes.

Laulima: Where a group of individuals works together, pitches in where and when help is needed, respects the goals of the group and the mission of our organization and puts aside differences that individuals have for the greater good.

ʻAnoʻai, the warmth of Hualālai claims the day of Kona. Kaiakeakua shifts the currents of Niumalu, stirring its sands into Kiʻope, graced by the spring of Waiha. Hoʻolulu in the calm. Huiha, a famed surf beckons its sands within Kiʻope, Niumalu awaits. Return ʻanae to Kiʻope, …”ai hea ʻoukou.” Nourish the ʻanae, compassionate is Waiha. Born Keauhou, Kona raised in ʻOʻoma, of a fisherman family, Aloha my name is Nani Makanoenoe Kupihe. Join us on the third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM at Huliheʻe for our membership meeting.
