In honor of the 10th anniversary of Mu‘umu‘u Month, we are excited to join in on the fun with our very first mu‘u event at Hulihe‘e!
Wear your favorite mu‘u for a morning at Hulihe‘e celebrating all things feminine and supporting the preservation of the palace. We’ll have bubbles, brunch bites, and books for your enjoyment, as well as a chance to show off your finest Hawaiian fashion.
A special mu‘u exhibit to honor Faye Daniel, former Regent of the Daughters of Hawai‘i, founder of Wilhelmina’s Tea, community icon, and inspiration for award winning author, Katherine Kayne’s newest novel. We lost Faye in 2019 but her legacy of service and style live on. Kayne will do a reading from Bound in Roses, her novel released earlier this month.

Award winning author, Katherine Kayne will be on hand to sign her latest book, Bound in Roses as well as her first novel about pā‘ū riding, Bound in Flame. Both books have events set on Hawai‘i island. Here’s what the critics have to say about Kayne’s writing:

Katherine Kayne writes deeply romantic historical fantasy set in old Hawai‘i. Her critically acclaimed debut novel BOUND IN FLAME delivers myth, magic and all the sparks promised by the title. The next installment in her Hawaiian Ladies’ Riding Society series, BOUND IN ROSES, was released just this month, January 2024.
