Wehileiʻula is a month-long cultural observance held during Mahina ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (February 2026) to commemorate the 200th birthday of Ruth Ke‘elikōlani Keanolani Kanāhoahoa.
Enter your best work showing a creative and respectful interpretation of Princess Ruth's life, legacy and cultural significance. All visual art mediums accepted. Open to all ages and experience levels. Judging and Public Exhibit at Huliheʻe Saturday February 7, 2026, during the celebration of Princess Ruth's birthday.

Judging Date and Process
Saturday, February 7, 2026 during the Princess Ruth Keʻelikōlani 200th Birthday Celebration at Huliheʻe Palace.
Upon admission into the Palace, each guest will receive one ticket to cast a vote for their favorite piece by placing it in the corresponding container. Tickets will be tallied and winners announced.
Rules and Requirements
All submissions must be original works of art
Maximum size: 5 ft x 3 ft
Maximum weight: 60 lbs
All works will be judged anonymously.
Artists may submit multiple pieces.
Materials must be non-damaging to historic grounds
No open flames, hazardous materials, or permanent fixtures
