Presenting Hoʻonanea: A Vintage Experience at Hānaiakamalama, a unique and immersive tour at one of Honolulu's most revered historic homes. When you arrive, you'll select a vintage muʻumuʻu to wear from the extensive collection of historic aloha wear from our partner, the Muʻumuʻu Library. Complete your ensemble with a fresh floral hairpiece you'll create after learning how from the knowledgeable Kumu Kuhi. Once dressed, you'll step back in time with a docent-led tour of the Palace. Learn more about Queen Emma, the royal family, and how they lived in this timeless symbol of classic Hawaiian elegance and contemporary style. Conclude your experience with a light picnic lunch of delightful delicacies to enjoy on the terrace overlooking the lush tropical gardens, on the grounds, or at home.

This three-hour program is co-sponsored by the Daughters of Hawaiʻi and Queen Emma Summer Palace, brought to you in partnership with Kumu Kuhi and the Muʻumuʻu Library.

Picnic Lunch:  A light picnic lunch is included with your entry. Guests are encouraged to bring a lauhala mat or picnic blanket with pillows for their picnic. There are a limited number of chairs and tables at the Palace, you may create your own table-setting with linens and china. Garden tables and chairs are available on a first-come basis, or bring your own setup! Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies so we can provide what you need. Please note for food allergies, we CANNOT guarantee a nut free kitchen.

Vintage Muʻumuʻu: Currently we are only able to offer muʻumuʻu for women in sizes S-XXL+. If you're not able to choose from our collection of vintage muʻumuʻu, you may arrive dressed in your own aloha attire. Buy a companion ticket to cover learning how to make a fresh floral hairpiece, the guided tour, and a picnic lunch.
