How to Enter:

1. Make a lei in any style with any materials you can dream up and post a photo of it on your Facebook or Instagram feed. You have from now until 4/30/23 and your profile must be set to public for viewing your images.

3. Add the hashtag #daughtersleicontest 
4. Winner will be announce on our Facebook and Instagram on Sunday, 5/1/23 – Lei Day!

Contest Rules:

The Daughters of Hawai‘i Lei Contest will accept entries on Facebook and Instagram from 4/2/23 –
4/30/23 and a panel of judges selected by Daughters of Hawai‘i will determine the winner on 5/1/23.
Winner will be determined on Technique and Execution (40%), Creativity and Originality (40%), and
Photographic Quality (20%). Winner will be announced on 5/1/23 and notified through Facebook or
Instagram depending on how they entered. Prize will be a Daughters of Hawai‘i gift basket and tour of
Queen Emma Summer Palace or Hulihe‘e Palace for the winner and up to three (3) guests to be
redeemed by 5/1/24. Value of prize is estimated at $150. Prize will be available to pick up at Queen
Emma Summer Palace on O‘ahu or Hulihe‘e Palace on Hawai‘i Island. If winner does not reside on
O‘ahu or Hawai‘i Island, the prize will be mailed to the preferred address provided by the winner. The
Contest is open only to entrants who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and live in the
U.S.A. To participate in the Contest, you must have a Facebook or Instagram account and include the
hashtag #daughtersleicontest in your submission post. Your Facebook and/or Instagram account must
be set to permit public viewing of your photos in order for us to receive your submission. By using the
hashtag and mentioning us in your Facebook or Instagram post, you acknowledge and agree that we
have the right to stream your post through the Facebook and Instagram API. The submission must be
the entrant’s original work and not feature or focus on any material owned or controlled by third parties
and must not include images that are obscene or otherwise objectionable. Photo submissions will also
