The Daughters of Hawai‘i was founded “to perpetuate the memory and spirit of old Hawai‘i and of historic facts, and to preserve the nomenclature and correct pronunciation of the Hawaiian language.”

The Daughters of Hawai‘i operates and maintains the Queen Emma Summer Palace and the Hulihe‘e Palace in Kailua-Kona, in addition to the site of Kamehameha III’s birth at Keauhou Bay, Kona.
Hānaiakamalama, The Queen Emma Summer Palace, served as a summer retreat for Queen Emma of Hawai‘i from 1857 to 1885, as well as for her husband King Kamehameha IV, and their son, Prince Albert Edward.
The Palace features beautiful koa wood furniture, ornaments, portraits, tapa, feather work, Hawaiian quilts and artifacts from Hawaii’s royal past.
Both Queen Emma Summer Palace and Hulihe‘e Palace are the perfect place to hold your meeting, party, wedding or reception.
