Kona Moon at Hulihe’e Palace: March 20, 2026

Eō e ke Kaiaulu Kona — Rejoice the Kona Community

Join us for a special evening of stories, music, and hula celebrating the living history and spirit of the Kona community on the lawn of Huliheʻe Palace.

Vision

Eō e ke Kaiāulu Kona — Rejoice the Kona Community.

Mission

To empower generations through the stories of the Kona community while honoring the deep and enduring relationships between Kaialua, Nā Aliʻi Kona (Chiefs of Kona), and Nā Kānaka Kona (People of Kona).

Our Gathering

This evening event invites the community to gather under the Kona moon for a time to talk story, reflect, and celebrate the traditions that continue to shape Hawaiʻi today.

Through the voices of our kūpuna, local musicians, and kumu hula, we will share stories that connect us to place, history, and one another. Musicians will share the moʻolelo behind songs composed for Hawaiʻi and Kona, while hula will bring these stories to life through movement and tradition.

The evening will take place on March 20th, 2026 on the front lawn of Huliheʻe Palace, beginning with an opening chant and music starting at 5:00 PM. Stories, music, and hula will continue throughout the evening as we gather together beneath the Kona moon.
