The Daughters of Hawaiʻi invite you to join us at Hānaiakamalama as we celebrate 50 years of aloha, heritage, and community. Nestled in the lush uplands of Nuʻuanu, this beloved home of Queen Emma has long been a place of respite and renewal, continuing to welcome our lāhui and visitors alike.
Aloha Nuʻuanu invites your ʻohana to experience the aloha of this wahi pana through mele, hula, and hana noʻeau, alongside live music, ‘ono food, and a vibrant mākeke. Proceeds support the preservation of Hānaiakamalama, ensuring this wahi pana inspires generations to come.
As we mark 50 years, we huli hoʻi, return again to a place of ʻike and deep aloha. The inoa Aloha Nuʻuanu grounds this celebration in the essence of its place, honoring Nuʻuanu as a puʻuhonua of history and renewal.
“Haʻina ka puana no kuʻu lei, ka pua ʻāhihi aʻo Lanihuli”
Inspired by the pua ʻāhihi of Lanihuli and kuiki Hawaiʻi, this design honors the vibrant life and enduring spirit found within the wahi pana of Hānaiakamalama. Rooted in the cool uplands of Nuʻuanu, the design reflects both the beauty of the lehua that flourishes upon this ʻāina and the aloha that has carried the Daughters of Hawaiʻi through 50 years of aloha, mālama, and kaiaulu.
As we celebrate Aloha Nuʻuanu and this golden milestone, the pattern serves as a reminder for us to kūlia mau i ka nuʻu, striving ever upward for future generations, honoring our aliʻi legacy while nurturing the pilina between ʻāina, kānaka, and kuanaʻike Hawaiʻi. This quilt is a tribute to the living legacy of Queen Emma’s beloved retreat, a symbol of the aloha Hānaiakamalama continues to share with all who enter its embrace for generations to come.

In celebration of 50 years, Aloha Nuʻuanu admission is just $5 for all guests ages 6 and older; but this year, your donation is your ticket to kōkua!
Each guest will have the opportunity to choose where they would like their $5 contribution to make an impact, supporting a specific area of mālama at Hānaiakamalama and the ongoing work of the Daughters of Hawaiʻi.
Whether helping to preserve this treasured wahi pana, care for its collections and grounds, or support the programs that keep our history and culture alive, you decide where your kōkua goes.
