UPDATED – 44th Annual Day at Queen Emma Summer Palace “At-Home” Edition

The 44th Annual Day at Queen Emma Summer Palace is coming up on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Traditionally, this annual community festival opens the Palace and grounds to the public, welcoming kamaʻāina and visitors to celebrate Hawaiʻi’s history, culture, and music, while supporting local vendors and artisans during a day at the Palace.

This year, due to the ongoing pandemic and growing concern for Hawaiʻi’s rising case numbers, in lieu of the in-person event and for the safety of our community, we will be hosting an “at-home” event. We are working to distill what makes the event so special–music, hula, local products, ʻono foods, time spent together and most importantly, an experience at the Palace–and present it in a way to be enjoyed responsibly. The cornerstones of the “at-home” event will feature:

  • Click & Play Entertainment – performances this year will be pre-recorded and available to watch in the safety of your own home!
  • Pūʻolo Aloha Supporter Box – we’re excited to launch a highly curated gift box featuring all the elements you’ve come to expect from the Day including classic favorites like our famous homemade jams and jellies to an assortment of delightful and locally made products. The Pūʻolo Aloha supporter box will be available for pre-order on September 18 and can be picked up at Hānaiakamalama on Saturday, October 2. If you are not located on Oʻahu, no worries! Boxes will be shipped for an additional fee.
  • Silent Auction – this highly anticipated online event allows you to bid on an assortment of coveted treasures and unique experiences. You can also look forward to the return of our Hawaiian Quilt Drawing again this year!

In order for this year’s Day at Queen Emma Summer Palace to be a success, we need as much help as we can get! If you are looking for ways to participate, we are in need of volunteers and donations of goods and services. In particular, if you are a local artisan or vendor that would like to be featured in Pūʻolo Aloha, we want to hear from you!

As always, all proceeds support the historic preservation, maintenance and operations of the Palace and grounds.

We need your kōkua!
